REGINA, Sask. Hockey Saskatchewan is proud to announce the launch of its new Strategic Plan for 2025-2028, a forward-looking framework designed to guide the non-profit organization to help grow the sport and better serve its 53,400 registered members.

Developed through a series of collaborative planning sessions and strategic discussions by staff and formally approved by the Hockey Saskatchewan Board of Directors, this plan builds upon the foundation laid by the previous 2022-2025 roadmap.

The new plan reflects Hockey Saskatchewan’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the game for all participants and supporting the province’s hockey community with a clear and renewed vision.

Vision: Provincial Leader in Sport Excellence
Mission: Advancing Hockey Through Innovation, Engagement and Participation
Values: Fun, Safety, Respect, Community, Inclusion and Wellness

“By adding wellness to our core values, we’re recognizing that hockey is more than a game — it’s a path to healthier lives, stronger relationships and personal development,” said Hockey Saskatchewan General Manager Kelly McClintock. “Whether it’s through being active, building friendships, or learning life skills, hockey continues to support the well-being of everyone involved in our sport.”

This updated strategy follows the successful Where Fun Wins (WFW) initiative, which marked the culmination of the previous plan and introduced a refreshed structure for grassroots hockey across Saskatchewan. The new plan now sets the stage for what comes next, beginning with preparations for the 2025-26 season, including Phase 2 of WFW.

The Strategic Plan is built around three key objectives that will guide Hockey Saskatchewan’s efforts over the next three seasons:

Strategic Objectives

1. Grow the Game

  • Programming
  • Remove barriers
  • Registration

2. Inspire & Serve Membership

  • Promote positive hockey experiences
  • Organizational support for our game
  • Celebrate the game

3. Build Capacity of Hockey

  • Financial stability
  • Good governance
  • Competencies and knowledge

"This new plan signals a continued evolution for Hockey Saskatchewan,” said McClintock. “It reflects the values that unite our community and lays out a path to ensure we’re growing the game responsibly, supporting our members and delivering a consistent, positive experience across the province.”

With this strategic direction in place, Hockey Saskatchewan is positioned to lead the sport into the future — reinforcing its commitment to excellence while ensuring the game remains accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for all.
